Gladiolus nanus ‘Prins Claus‘

Quick overview

Pure white blooms contrast solid raspberry red markings on the lower petals. This popular variety looks good both in the border and as cut flowers in a vase, especially when paired with cool reds, pinks and purples. x 6 corms in the Grow Club.

Height: 60-70cm, Preferred conditions: full sun or part shade.

Mini versions of taller ‘Sword lily’ gladioli. Early flowering suited for small spaces and containers. They are cormous perennials with sword-shaped leaves and spikes with trumpet-shaped flowers.

Origin/native: Mediterranean, Asia, Africa

Care Tips:
Perennial plants will come back each year so decide to plant them in final growing positions or if you grow them as container displays they can be planted out after flowering.
Feeding:
After flowering you can apply a balanced liquid fertiliser weekly for a month to build up the bulbs for next year. Can be frost tender so best practice is to lift and store over winter before replanting in spring.
