Excellently mad dreadlock-style wavy light green leaves, that gradually develop dark red tinges! Dense clusters with dark red bulbils, very interesting flowers. Plant middle-centre in borders or container displays. Strap shaped green foliage adds texture early on. Height: 1m, Flowering time: May to July, Preferred conditions:  Full shade or part shade.

A designer’s favourite! When spring daffodils and tulips have flowered, it is the turn of ornamental onions. Alliums take us into summer with high impact and after flowering the seed heads become a stunning architectural feature.
