Actaea or baneberry are elegant plants for shady areas. Flower late in the season adding interest from late summer through autumn, with long spikes of fluffy white flowers that open from pink buds with lovely deep purple divided leaves. A fragrant plant that also provides a valuable source of nectar and pollen for insects. They are low maintenance and grow well in borders in those cooler shady areas. Growing tall to over 1.2m in height, provides a fabulous back drop.
